Mette Hansen began her journey as a professional in the fitness industry in 1987 as a Certified Aerobics Instructor. With 3 amazing sons, a prior career in the Film Industry, and a Bachelors of Science in Marketing and Psychology, Mette has a natural ability to reach out to people from all walks of life and motivate them towards wellness. Mette’s personal movement journey, however, started early in her childhood. From equestrian sports and volleyball to softball and tennis, Mette has a well-rounded background from which she draws upon to create her unique perspective on the study of human movement. She began her personal Pilates journey in 1995 to manage and alleviate back pain and in 2004 she became certified in the Classical Pilates Method through the "Pilates Institute of Southern California" (Manhattan Beach, CA). Wanting to expand her practice, she then opened her own beautiful facility, "Studio Pilates" (El Segundo, CA) in 2007. She continued her journey in Pilates education by becoming Certified through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) as well as Polestar Pilates in 2011. In addition to this, she has continuously expanded her knowledge horizon over the years with numerous workshops by Senior Pilates professionals and Teachers such as Kathy Grant, Ron Fletcher, Mary Bowen and Michele Larsson to name a few. Today, Mette is the Educator for the Polestar Comprehensive Teacher Training that she hosts at her studio in addition to her full time teaching schedule. She is also delving deeper into the study of fascia and holistic movement with the works of Thomas Meyers’ Anatomy Trains and Phillip Beach’s Contractile Theory.
